Max established 291 Agency in 2021 following a 15-year career in the art world. During his 12 years at Gagosian, he played a central role in integrating new artists and estates into the gallery and shaping its global sales strategy. Maintaining a constant presence across art fairs and exhibitions, he curated select projects and collaborated with leading scholars on academic publications. Max founded 291 Agency with a vision to support leading contemporary artists through tailored, strategic guidance, helping to develop both their creative practices and market presence. He has also been a longtime supporter of the National YoungArts Foundation.
ANDREA CRANE is Co-Founder and Partner at 291 Agency.
Andrea Crane brings over 25 years of experience at the highest levels of the fine art market, establishing herself as a leading figure in the fields of Impressionist, Modern, and Contemporary Art. For the past 14 years, she has also collaborated closely with the renowned artist Cecily Brown. Prior to founding her art consultancy in 2014, Andrea built a distinguished career at major auction houses and galleries, including Christie’s, Sotheby’s and Gagosian. Alongside her professional practice, Andrea has been deeply engaged in arts philanthropy and governance. She has served as a Board Member and Co-Chair of the Drawing Center for the past decade, and spent more than twenty years on the Board of the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Andrea holds a B.A. in Art History from Johns Hopkins University and a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago.
RYSIA MURPHY is a Partner at 291 Agency.
Rysia brings extensive experience in artist management and operations, overseeing business management at 291 Agency. She co-founded Arisohn + Murphy in 2015, leading project management and strategic initiatives for artists, galleries, and institutions. Her work includes large-scale public art installations for artists such as Urs Fischer and Carsten Höller, as well as programming for clients including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Douglas Elliman. Prior to this, she spent ten years at Gagosian directing the gallery’s global art fair program and special projects. Rysia holds a BA from Connecticut College.
JESSY ARISOHN is a Partner at 291 Agency.
Jessy leads museum relations and artist strategy at 291 Agency, focusing on the development of artists’ practices across institutional and commercial contexts. She co-founded Arisohn + Murphy in 2015, advising artists, galleries, and organizations on project management and long-term strategy. Prior to this, she spent a decade at Gagosian overseeing exhibitions, artist-led real estate opportunities, and special projects. Her experience includes working with international artists and galleries across public art initiatives, art fairs, and museum collaborations. Alex brings over a decade of experience in licensing, brand partnerships, and creative production across the art, fashion, and design industries. Prior to joining 291 Agency, he spent eight years at Artestar as Director of Brand Partnerships, where he led global collaborations for artists and estates including Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Robert Mapplethorpe, and Kenny Scharf. His work has included partnerships with brands such as Raf Simons, Dior, Comme des Garçons, Tiffany & Co., Uniqlo, and Saint Laurent. He holds a BA in Design and Decision Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
GAN UYEDA is a Senior Agent at 291 Agency.
Gan has over a decade of experience working with artists at all stages of their careers. He was previously a Partner at François Ghebaly Gallery, where he played a key role in expanding the gallery’s program and operations, working closely with artists while focusing on museum relations, sales, writing, and strategy. Earlier, he held multiple roles at Richard Gray Gallery in Chicago, with a focus on artist relations, press coordination, and exhibition management. He holds a BA in Art History and International Relations from Brown University and an MA in Art History and Arts Administration from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Emily has over a decade of experience in the international art market, working across New York, London, and Tel Aviv. She previously worked at Gagosian with a focus on artist management, exhibitions, art fairs, and special projects. As an independent curator, she has organized exhibitions including Élan Vital at MoCA Westport and served on selection committees for programs such as gener8tor Art. Since joining 291 Agency in 2021, she has worked closely with artists and studios to realize exhibitions, public commissions, and new business initiatives. She holds an MA in Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art and a BA in History of Art from the University of Wisconsin.

Anthony has over eight years of experience in artist management, working with contemporary artists and estates across exhibitions, sales, and special projects. Prior to joining 291 Agency, he held roles at Gagosian and David Zwirner, where he managed artist relations, loans, research, and exhibition strategy. Kat has over a decade of experience developing projects with artists, brands, and institutions. She began her career working in artists’ studios and editorial, later serving as Creative Director at Cultured. Alongside her editorial work for T Magazine, W, and Interview, she has led projects ranging from The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s rooftop commission to collaborations with Prada, Amazon, and Hästens. She has also supported placements of artists’ work in major museum collections, including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Brooklyn Museum.

Juliana has over eight years of experience working across partnerships and special projects in the art world in London and New York. She has held roles at Christie’s, the Daniel and Estrellita B. Brodsky Family Foundation, Vortic, and Artsy, collaborating with artists, galleries, and institutions with a focus on Latin American art and its diaspora. She has written on contemporary art, public sculpture, and Latin American art.
